While the pool and spa industry may seem niche, this year’s top 50 builders reported collective annual revenues of over $1.4 billion in 2018. SSG received a #25 listing nationwide, competing with firms in warmer, year-round climates such as Texas, Arizona and California. In fact, SSG was among only 2 companies selected from the northern half of the New England region.
Many challenges are presented to pool builders. The industry faces a growing labor shortage, rising cost of materials and increased regulations. Despite all of these factors being noted, 58% of this year’s Top 50 class recognized weather conditions (snow and rain) as the biggest impediment to their business.
